[Satellite TODAY 05-29-13] SAVIS Tegnologia has selected Advantech Wireless to provide a geographically redundant military satellite communication network system for SISFRON, the largest border security program in Latin America.

Advantech was selected by SAVIS, an Embraer Defesa & Segurança subsidiary and the prime contractor on the SISFRON program and by CCOMGEX (Centro de Comunicação e Guerra Eletrônica do Exército Brasileiro – Communications and Electronic Warfare Command of the Brazilian Army), to provide the geographically redundant satellite communications system.

Advantech will design, build and integrate the solution, including several VSAT hubs, fixed user terminals, mobile user terminals and manpack-user terminals. The telecommunications Earth station will use Advantech-introduced advanced high-speed TDMA and SCPC multiple access techniques, known as A-SATTM.
